Louise Goulding - Journey Into The Night
During the many lockdowns we’ve had, I began to notice how quiet the roads had become. Especially at night. This reminded me of the comfort I usually feel at night, and I wanted to showcase this within my final major project. Inspired by nightscape photographers such as Austin Prendergast and Eamon Bonner, who were clearly inspired by William Egglestone themselves. This was clear by their use of very interesting colour palettes that are very bright and vivid and colourful. I did this in my own work by using the colour adjustments in Photoshop. I also used different techniques in my work such as using a pinhole camera and using various Photoshop manipulation techniques.

Joshua Porter - Second Hand Styling
For this project, ‘Second hand styling’ the focus was minimising fast fashion by utilising second hand sourced clothing. At university, I will be further studying the genre of fashion photography to develop my skills and technical knowledge. The aim was to raise awareness that there are alternatives from shopping straight from bigger stores. We must slow down fast-fashion consumption. Does the temporary ‘good feeling’ of a new outfit outweigh the negative impact of fast-fashion on the environment?

Cat Toft - Faulty
My chosen theme for my Final Major Project was ‘Faulty’ referring to faulty genetics, faulty hormones, a faulty brain. In 2018, I was officially diagnosed with major depression, which is caused by a lack of serotonin. Hence the name ‘Faulty’ as my body doesn't produce enough serotonin. For my final images, I completed a shoot geared towards the LGBTQ+ community. This is because queer people can often be viewed as something being ‘wrong’ with them. I photographed a non-binary pansexual model who has existing mental health issues.

Veronica Kurasik - Through The Mind
My work is a representation of different things relating to mental health. Because mental health is something that isn’t talked about enough so I knew I had to base my work around mental health and bring a lot more awareness to it because it’s important not to ignore it. I do what I do because I want to make people more aware of things that matter the most and educate people more on things they might not be educated enough on, which I hope my photographs can do that because the photographs I take my aim is to tell some sort of story that at least someone will be able to relate to. For my finals I was greatly inspired by Tomasz Wagner because I really like his style odd double exposures

Lara Honey-Jones - Stand Out
‘Stand out’ was a project I created in order to convey the message that people are afraid to be different, to be themselves. They are afraid of rejection, afraid that if they show who they really are, everyone will just leave them behind. For my final images, I wanted to have the main subject stand out, relating to the overall theme of my project. By wearing certain clothing I contrasted with the bright and colourful environmental setting. I had purposely allowed myself to stand out and be different. I believe that my work is inspired by the photographer, Flora Borsi.

Tom Lunt - Through The Lens
For my project the focus was all about the fashion industry. It has been growing rapidly in recent years because of social media. Everyone relies on social media and that allows fashion brands to add adverts so it reaches an audience and has a better chance to grow. I wanted my images to look like it can belong in an advert or on the front page of a magazine.

Sophie Bentley - The Weird and the Wonderful
This project is based around the topic of surrealism and exploring the imagination to see how strange and, as said in the title, weird my ideas could be. Three concepts were drawn out for my photoshoot plans the idea of light within darkness, the idea of colours and glamour, and the idea of the uncomfortable and revolting paired with art. I chose this concept for my shoot as I feel like surrealism is a very broad subject that can include anything strange and quirky, which is exactly what I wanted to involve in my photoshoots - images that are extraordinary.

Cameron Rowley - Through The Looking Glass
For my FMP project, I based all of my shoots off current social issues that are going on in our world right now, as I wanted to bring awareness to each one of these topics to help people realise what is going on in the 21st century like bullying, body image, coronavirus plus many more! Throughout my project, I was inspired by multiple different photographers and artists from the likes of Rankin who inspired me to create my ‘Strip’ shoot as he was the one who shot the music video for Little Mix who were also a big inspiration throughout my entire FMP as they are big activists for mental health and all current social issues like homophobia and racism.

Caitlin Howle - Colour Theory, Association and Connection
For my final project, I created a series of images under the title of ‘Colour Theory’, Association and Connection’. I wanted to shoot Advertising photography but with a twist, so I thoroughly researched colour theory/psychology and produced a series of specifically coloured images. My main inspiration is from Jonathan Knowles and Paloma Rincon, as most of their work is unique, colourful and eccentric images which heavily inspired my work. I’ve experimented with this genre for my final project, as I feel I can be creative with it and make it my own

Erin Grocott - Low Key
Inspired by Juno Calypso with her colour palette and style, this was the main inspiration for my project, all my images are different styles but the colour palette is the same across all the images. I also tried to include more vintage looking photos like Neil Krug, his Lana Del Rey album covers are one of the main reasons I included vintage looking photos and explored digital ageing in photos and making DSLR images look like they are taken on film cameras.

For my final Images i called it ‘Back In Time’ because of the Polaroids.

Nicole Moss - Elements Of Nature
My theme is Nature. I enjoy capturing photos that show how tranquil the world can be without being destroyed by people. I am fascinated how it can be at odds with itself because it can be gentle and peaceful one minute then vicious and wild the next. As well as that I like how you can use nature to escape from everything and clear your head. This theme I have chosen is very vast and can be interpreted in many ways. During my project I took inspiration from Harold Feinstein because I loved all the different ways, he showed nature that contributed to my ideas.

Ethan Hulme - Street and Documentary
The main theme of my final major project was street photography but after slowly progressing through the project I started to do documentary type photographs. One of my main inspirations was a Chinese photographer called Fan Ho who likes to capture people walking about the streets going about their lives, lighting is one of the main aspects of his images, he has a very surreal feeling to them and he likes to include shadows a lot which is what I wanted to replicate in my photos.

Millie Carter - Nothing Comes In Pairs These Days
Throughout my FMP I wanted to incorporate different techniques I learnt throughout my two years on the course. Recognising my overall style of natural beauty and capturing the truth. My inspiration from the beginning has always been Annie Leibovitz, an inspirational role model for myself, “When I say I want to photograph someone, what it really means is that I’d like to know them.” Something I have been fortunate enough to capture is strong independent women with passionate personalities from old and new discoveries of friendships on my photography journey.
